One of the journal prompts I read on Pinterest asked the question:
What are your spiritual gifts?
I wasn't exactly sure the answer to this question. I mean, I've read about spiritual gifts before, but I've never really felt qualified enough to 'have one.'
Paul writes about spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians chapter 12. He says there are a diversity of gifts, but they all operate under one Spirit. They all work together for the same cause. One gift isn't better than the other. In verse 8, Paul begins describing the spiritual gifts.
The Spirit gives one person a word of wisdom, but to the next person the same Spirit gives a word of knowledge.
Another will receive the gift of faith by the same Spirit, and still another gifts of healing—all from the one Spirit.
One person is enabled by the Spirit to perform miracles, another to prophesy, while another is enabled to distinguish those prophetic spirits.
The next one speaks in various kinds of unknown languages, while another is able to interpret those languages.

The next step on this journey of understanding what spiritual gift *we* possess is understanding the definition of each of these spiritual gifts.
According to the Life in the Spirit Study Bible,
message/word of wisdom: It applies the revelation of God's Word or the Holy Spirit's wisdom to a specific situation or problem.
message/word of knowledge: This is an utterance inspired by the Holy Spirit that reveals knowledge about people, circumstances, or Biblical truth. It is often connected with prophecy.
gift of faith: Special supernatural faith imparted by the Holy Spirit that enables the Christian to believe God for the extraordinary and miraculous.
gift of healing: These restore physical health by supernatural means.
miraculous powers: These are deeds of supernatural power that alter the normal course of nature.
prophecy: These men and women function as prophets within the church. It enables a believer to bring a word or revelation directly from God under the impulse of the Holy Spirit.
distinguishing between spirits: This is the ability to properly discern between evil spirits and distinguish whether or not an utterance is from the Holy Spirit.
speaking in diverse tongues: Such speech has not been learned. This involves the human spirit and the Spirit of God mingling so that the believer communicates directly to God.
interpretation of tongues: This is the Spirit-given ability to understand and communicate the meaning of an utterance spoken in tongues. This can be a revelation to the congregation or a certain believer.

Because I wasn't too sure what my spiritual gift is, or if I even have one at all, I found a test online called 'The Spiritual Gift Test' by Rock Church. It was a test comprised of 66 questions that helped detect what your strongest gift is. I would love if you took it too and shared your results! The link is above.
My results were:
Evangelism, Exhortation, Help, Mercy, Pastor/Shepherd, Teaching.
There is a PDF File below the gifts listed that you can click on and read about each of these areas.
- Evangelism means the ability to help others find Jesus.
- Exhortation means the divine strengthen, comfort, or urge others through written or spoken word. (I LOVE THIS ONE!!!!!!!)
- Help means the divine strength to work in a supportive role for the accomplishment of tasks in a ministry.
- Mercy means the divine strength or ability to feel empathy and to care for those who are hurting in any way.
- Pastor/Shepherd means the divine strength or ability to care for the personal needs of others by nurturing and mending life issues.
- Teaching means the divine strength or ability to study and learn from the Scriptures primarily to bring understanding and depth to other Christians.

This was really inspiring for me and really made me feel like God COULD and WILL use me.
What were your results and how do you feel about them?
I'm just a sinner saved by grace. God has asked me to allow grace to work in my life-- even when I didn't think I was worthy of it.
